Tracks in snow of Shrew & Mouse

Tracks in snow of shrew and mouse

In winter it is unusual to find Shrew and Mole tracks above the snow, both are insectivores with poor eyesight giving them limited warning of a predator’s presence. Mice, voles and lemmings have larger ears and eyes that provide more opportunity to sense predators.
